Leading waste management company, RiverRidge Recycling is celebrating after picking up four top awards at two of Northern Ireland’s most prestigious and respected award ceremonies, Sustainable Ireland and Export and Freight.
At the glittering events held in the Ramada hotel on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th September, RiverRidge was presented the Sustainable Ireland Award for Waste Management and Environmental Excellence, sponsored by Ulster Shredders.
Alongside three awards at Export and Freight, including the Safety Award, sponsored by Michelin Tyres, Own Account Operator of the Year, sponsored by DAF and TBF Thompson and Transport Manager of the Year, sponsored by Volvo Trucks and Dennison Commercials.
Brett Ross, Managing Director of RiverRidge Recycling comments, “The entire RiverRidge team should be very proud of themselves, to be recognised by our peers in the industry is a great testament to the group’s hard work and dedication to ensuring we have a first class waste management company.”
The company has transformed significantly over the last five years from a family-run operation, offering basic waste collection and disposal services, to Northern Ireland’s largest independent waste management company, serving a diverse customer base across both the private and public sectors of Northern Ireland.
Brett continues, “Health and Safety is viewed as a core business value which RiverRidge is fully committed to. As a result of our devoted Compliance department, our Health and Safety systems are constantly reviewed and we provide regular training to all of our employees and sub contractors where required. We continue to provide a culture of safety and as such it will remain a top priority across the company.
“We have recently introduced a Customer Care team to help enhance our service excellence and our modern, environmentally friendly fleet means we conduct business in a manner which achieves sustainable growth whilst demonstrating a commitment to
protecting the environment.”
RiverRidge Recycling’s work was further recognised with Export and Freight’s top accolade for Transport Manager of the Year going to Stephen Thompson, RiverRidge Recycling’s Group Transport Manager.
Brett continues, “It is great to see one of our senior management team receive industry recognition, Stephen along with his team run the entire transport nerve centre of RiverRidge, with great diligence and attention to detail. As a result of Stephen’s excellent leadership and the work of his integral team we continue to provide an outstanding service, so this award is greatly deserved.”
The Sustainable Ireland awards ceremony kindly included a charity raffle in aid of RiverRidge Recycling’s nominated charity; Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.
Brett Ross added, “Our charity this year is the Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hopsice and we were thrilled that the total raised for this worthy charity at the Sustainable Ireland awards was £2,680. The support, advice and specialist care which only the NI Children’s Hospice can offer is incredible. I would really like to thank everyone who made a contribution on the evening, it is greatly appreciated.”
