We have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who is ready for a challenge in this exciting role within our Transport Department.

About the Position:

Working closely with the Transport Management team, you will provide regular training sessions to both existing and new employees throughout the RiverRidge group. You will be primarily based from our site at Duncrue Street, Belfast, however you will be required to travel across all RiverRidge sites in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Required to assess, train and monitor drivers throughout the RiverRidge group in line with legislation and company policy and procedures
  • Provide clear and consistent HGV training to a high professional standard
  • Carry out periodic driving assessments as and when required and identify training needs
  • Carry out new driver inductions (agency / contractor / employee)
  • Provide refresher training, as and when required
  • Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others whilst at work and to comply with the company’s policies and the relevant legislation
  • Support company initiatives and demonstrate company values
  • Comply with all legal, regulatory and statutory obligations applicable to the role
  • Participate in training and personal development activities, as required
  • Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role

Essential criteria

To be considered for this position, you should display the following:

  • Must hold a valid HGV license (C+E), Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
  • Minimum of three years HGV driving experience
  • Maximum three penalty points on driving license with access to own vehicle
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of drivers hours / rules and regulations
  • Should be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of the transport industry
  • At least one years’ experience of practical/ classroom training within a logistics environment within the last five years
  • Must be willing to travel to various sites across the RiverRidge group to conduct inductions and training as and when required
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate (including Excel – intermediate level and above)
  • Committed to career in driver training
  • Flexible approach to working hours

Desirable Criteria

  • Registered driver trainer qualification
