Salary: £21,866.67 – £22,880.00 (dependant on experience)

Overall Purpose of Role

Due to our continual growth, we are looking to appoint a full time Transport Administrator to join our team.  This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking for a challenging but rewarding experience with the company.

This position will provide administrative support to the Transport team across the group ensuring that procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements are carried out and all appropriate records are maintained and available to evidence.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide administrative support on day-to-day basis to support the long-term effectiveness of the Transport Compliance across the group
  • Work as part of a successful Transport Team to deliver excellent service and to meet all contractual commitments
  • Comply with Health and Safety standards and monitor vehicle defects to help reduce vehicle failings
  • Maintain company Health and Safety management system to ensure compliance, this includes updating maintenance records
  • Produce monthly transport KPI statistics
  • Responsibility for fleet; assist with fleet maintenance, servicing/repairs, defect management
  • Ensure efficient processing of purchase orders on a daily basis
  • Become familiar with routes to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in line with the company’s service levels
  • Be flexible in approach to shift start/finish times
  • Undertake any other duties that may be required to support the effective running of the Transport Department in line with the undertakings of the operators licence

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, you should display the following:

  • At least one years’ previous administration experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be competent in use of IT software systems, Microsoft office suite, in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Enjoy working with people and display good interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of verbal and written communication skills
  • Recognise the importance of confidentiality
  • Excellent organisational skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of updating and maintaining company databases/systems
  • Experience working within the transport industry
