International Men’s Day 2024: Meet Ben Forsythe

What inspired you to take on a leadership role in your local church?

I am privileged to be a part of a church that provides many opportunities to serve and reach out into the community. As a Christian, I believe that I am to example Jesus to the people around me by loving them well, caring about them, and doing life together with them, which inspires me to serve others through my church.

How do you hope to positively impact the lives of young people in your community?

Through spending intentional time with them. One of the biggest ways in which I hope to have even a slight impact on the lives of young people is by creating space for open and honest conversations where they not only feel heard, but listened to, and through this, helping them to understand the value and purpose that they have been created with.

What values do you aim to share with the youth through your work with the church?

While supporting young people in their day-to-day, we aim to show them, through both our actions and our words, that we’re to live by example to the people around us, acting out of love, speaking words of truth and encouragement, and putting others before ourselves.

How does your involvement in the church influence your life outside of it, including your work at RiverRidge?

My involvement in church, but more importantly, my faith in Jesus, has completely transformed my life — from how I think right through to who I am as a person. This directly impacts how I interact with and build relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and customers both in my day-to-day life, and in my job at RiverRidge.
