HGV Drivers: Category ‘C’

Ref:  HGV/DC/AMPM/04/26 

Permanent / Full Time Mon-Fri min 40 hours

Starting time: AM Shift (05:30am) and PM Shift (3pm)

Base Location: Duncrue Street, Belfast

We are currently looking for full time HGV Drivers (C) to join our busy teams at our site in Duncrue Street, Belfast. As a Driver you will be required to complete multi drop deliveries and collections throughout NI. The Driver will also be required to collect and move commercial containers when required.

As a AM shift Drivers, you will start at 05.30am based from Duncrue site, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required, on a rota basis.

As a PM shift Drivers, you will start at 3pm based from Duncrue site, Monday to Friday, with Saturdays required, on a rota basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent customer service skills that support the RiverRidge Brand
• Ensure Health & Safety adherence at all times
• Complete vehicle checks in line with Operating licence procedures, reporting any defects to the Transport Office (both electronically and verbally)
• Follow all regulations relating to driver’s hours and safe operation of heavy goods vehicles
• Working collaboratively with the transport team to ensure excellent operational service is maintained, and continually improved
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Undertake all necessary training, & cooperate with the security clearance process as required
• Any other duties as delegated by the Transport Department

Essential Criteria

• Must hold a valid HGV licence – Category ‘C’,
• Must hold a Digital Tachograph card and Full Driver CPC
• Full UK Driving Licence (Max of 6 penalty points)
• Basic disclosure checks i.e., Access NI, will be required and should be maintained
• Ability to undertake manual work
• Flexible approach to working hours is required in relation to finish times, weekends, and bank holidays
• Excellent customer service skills
• Team Player
• Good Communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Good Knowledge of driver’s hours, rules, and regulations

Desirable Criteria

• Minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience
• Previous experience working in the waste industry

• Competitive Hourly Rate – Competitive Hourly Rate – £15.73ph (shift from 3pm to finish, will receive a shift allowance of 15.4% on their basic hourly rate.)

• Overtime rate of Time and a Half for hours worked over 44 hours Monday to Friday
• Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday – Time and a Half
