RiverRidge assists Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal

WASTE and resource management company, RiverRidge is assisting in the mission to make sure no child misses out on the joy of Christmas this year by offering in-kind waste management services to Mission Christmas’ Cash for Kids fundraising campaign.

RiverRidge is proudly supporting the charity by providing waste management services, including the provision of skips and bins that will be used to collect the masses of cardboard and plastic waste that the charity is accumulating thanks to the generosity of the people of Northern Ireland.

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity that helps children who are living in poverty across the UK. The charity believes that Christmas is for every child and no child should miss out, so has made it their mission to ensure as many children as possible wake up to a gift on Christmas Day.

Group Transport Manager at RiverRidge, Stephen Thompson recently visited the charity’s warehouse on Boucher Road in Belfast, where gifts are beginning to arrive before being sorted thanks to a team of volunteers, assisted by Bauer Media. Stephen said, “When we were approached and asked to help the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal, we did not hesitate. It’s very difficult to imagine that there are children in Northern Ireland who will not wake up to presents on Christmas morning but being at the warehouse and seeing the incredible work that the charity and team of volunteers are doing is very humbling. It would be great to get as much support for the charity as possible.”

Jenna Robinson from Bauer Media spoke about RiverRidge’s offering saying, “As a charity, we depend on the generosity of people and businesses around the region, so we were delighted when RiverRidge agreed to collect the waste from our warehouse. It’s been great to welcome members of the team to the warehouse so they can see first-hand how their service is helping.”

The charity collects gifts for children aged from birthday to 18 years, and whilst all gifts are welcomed and appreciated, the charity is requesting gender neutral teenage gifts including electronics, headphones, earphones, pop sockets, fluffy socks, blankets, stationary, backpacks, water bottles etc.
