RiverRidge are currently seeking 2 x Maintenance Supervisors to work within the Maintenance department in our Garvagh and Portadown depots. This position would be ideal for someone who is currently working within a Maintenance Team and seeking an opportunity to progress to the next level.
Purpose of the Job
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will work as part of a team to manage all planned and reactionary maintenance activities of the waste processing equipment on site. You will be responsible for ensuring that all plant & equipment is maintained in good condition at all times while downtime is kept to a minimum and budgets adhered to within the overall maintenance department.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and co-ordinate repairs & maintenance of all equipment to minimise downtime and maximise production.
- Supervise all activities taking place within the workshop and out on site by maintenance crews, this includes contractors and in-house personnel.
- Responsibility for working within the weekly, monthly & annual maintenance budgets set by management.
- Liaise with maintenance crews on site and equipment suppliers to ascertain what critical spares need to be kept on site for new and existing equipment to ensure breakdowns can be repaired without incurring unnecessary delays.
- Manage the spare parts & consumables stores on site to ensure adequate levels are in stock at all times and use of same is recorded.
- Ordering Spare Parts & Consumables and ensuring that the stores are maintained and tidy at all times.
- Ensure maintenance records for all Plant & Equipment is maintained and updated on the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure that all maintenance activities on site are compliant with the companies Integrated Management Systems such as ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 and assist with Internal & External Audits of these as and when required.
- Assist with Equipment Installations and or Removals, ensuring Lift Plans & RAMS are in place.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities taking place on site are compliant with the companies Work Permit procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance contractors are compliant with Contractors Rules at all times.
- Implement the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within your area of responsibility are adhered to, ensuring that everyone is trained and experienced in the tasks being undertaken by them.
- Carry out health & safety audits and inspections of maintenance department as required.
- Ensure that a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained at all times.
- Provide strong leadership, direction and mentoring, thereby fostering and sustaining cooperation and team spirit.
- Participate in training and personal development activities, as required.
- Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, you should display the following:
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years experience in leading repairs & maintenance activities within a workshop or fast paced production environment
- OR 5 years experience in leading repairs & maintenance activities within a workshop or fast paced production environment
- Experience in fault finding hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Have strong engineering analytical skills, ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
- Experience with maintaining conveyors, industrial shredders, mobile plant and/or other equipment.
- Good communication skills
- Be IT literate and be proficient in the use of Microsoft office Programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams.
- Flexible approach to working hours as the position will require participation in a shift working arrangement which will include working weekends and breakdown/call out cover,
- Able to prioritise effectively and is results driven
- Should be familiar with Company Management systems such as Time and Attendance, ISO and Health and Safety
- Full UK Driving License as position may involve travel around between the sites, as and when required
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in waste, recycling or quarry industry.
- Experience in using Limble CMMS Software / System
- Ideally you will have attained IOSH in Managing Safely or must be willing to complete this qualification
