Training Instructor
Full Time (40 hours Monday to Friday) / Permanent Contract/

We have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate who is ready for a challenge in this exciting role within our EHS Department.
About the Position:
Reporting directly to the Group Health and Safety Manager, the Training Instructor will form part of RiverRidge EHS team providing regular training sessions to both existing and new employees throughout the RiverRidge Group. You will be primarily based from our site at Duncrue Street, Belfast, however you will be required to travel across all RiverRidge sites in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Required to assess, train and monitor employees throughout the RiverRidge group in line with legislation and Company policy & procedures.
- Design and deliver training using appropriate resources and applicable training methods
- Provide clear and consistent training to a high professional standard.
- Maintain accurate and robust training records.
- Carry out new employee inductions.
- Provide refresher training, as and when required.
- Develop and maintain safe systems of work.
- Maintain company KPI’s relevant to RiverRidge EHS department.
- Assist with incident investigations and complete post-incident reviews.
- Take responsibility for the Health and Safety of yourself and others whilst at work and to comply with the Company’s policies and the relevant legislation
- Support Company Initiatives and demonstrate Company values.
- Comply with all legal, regulatory, and statutory obligations applicable to the role.
- Participate in training and personal development activities, as required.
- Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role
Essential criteria
To be considered for this position, you should display the following:
- Must hold ITSSAR (or equivalent) training Instructor / Examiner certificate.
- Experience of coaching/mentoring people with mixed abilities from novice operators through to experienced and renewal candidates.
- Maximum 3 penalty points on Driving license with access to own vehicle
- Minimum 1 years’ experience of practical/ classroom training within the last 5 years
- Must be willing to travel to various sites across the RiverRidge group to conduct inductions and training as and when required
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Confident presenter
- Excellent communication skills
- IT literate (including Excel – intermediate level and above)
- Committed to a career in Training
- Flexible approach to working hours for training purposes.
Desirable Criteria
- Manual handling training instructor
