Northern Ireland’s leading waste and resource management company, RiverRidge, recently held its annual charity golf day at Shandon Park Golf Club in Belfast raising £5,400 for its charity partner of the year, Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
The golf day, which is in its seventh year, is part of RiverRidge’s commitment to supporting its local community and raising funds for the charity, which provides specialist care to infants, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses throughout the region.
Eagerly supported by a number of the company’s customers and suppliers, the event has helped raise thousands for the hospice since it first launched in 2015 and has been hailed as a success year on year. This year’s event was no different, with a great turn out of players on the day who navigated the course, which has been described as one of the greatest Irish parkland challenges.
During the event, RiverRidge CEO Brett Ross, took the opportunity to thank those who supported the event saying, “Our team at RiverRidge has seen first-hand the work that the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice does, and we were blown away by their efforts and the service and advice they offer to those in need. To not only support, but to focus all our charitable efforts towards the Hospice for another year was a very easy decision for us.
“In addition, it is humbling to see the support that our suppliers and customers have offered our charity golf day, whether in four balls, hole sponsors or raffle prizes, or simply turning up. To raise almost £5.5k is an excellent achievement, and we truly thank everyone who made a contribution. Their support will enable the charity to continue carrying out its vital work.”
